Membership

Why should you become a member of AMSA? Because membership is at the core of our philosophy. By becoming a member of AMSA, you make it possible for us to put on better events for you and create a friendly pre-med community to provide resources. Most of all, it means that you want to make the difference for AMSA!

Benefits:
Members have special access to AMSA's offerings such as free food during meetings, free access to campus-wide events, and free copies of the Berkeley Premed Survival Guide. Members also have priority access to club events such as suturing classes and CPR classes when only a limited number of spots are available. Also, members get discounts for MCAT prep classes!

Requirements:
To become a member of AMSA @ Cal, there is no GPA requirement. Instead, all we ask is a creative mind and the commitment of our members to make our organization better.

There is a $25 local chapter membership fee due each semester. This goes towards our volunteer projects and social events. National dues are $35 annually or $75 for four years. National membership is not mandatory to be active in the local chapter, but is required if you would wish to attend the Annual National Convention or be involved with AMSA on the national level.

To join our local chapter, come to our meetings to pick up an application or down load this (pdf), fill it out, and submit it to any one of our officers along with the local chapter fee.

To join National AMSA, go to the AMSA website at http://www.amsa.org and fill in the online application form or mention to one of the officers you would like to join National AMSA.
