We are a group of students (mostly pre-meds, but everyone is welcome!) dedicated to giving back to the community, learning about medicine today, and creating a welcoming and supportive community at Cal.

We participate in a number of short and long term volunteer projects including work with Foster Care kids, the disabled and the homeless. Our Issues Committee is dedicated to exploring developments in the medical world.

We also work to create a support network for premeds at Cal. Currently, we are working to put on a Pre-Health Career Fair in the spring and distribute a print version of our online Berkeley Pre-Med Survival Guide for members.

The mission of AMSA Premed is to provide information, support and leadership development for future physicians-in-training. As activists, we seek to foster our philosophy of diversity and community service in the premedical student, while providing benefits and service which aid future physicians-in-training as they prepare for a career in medicine.

AMSA's programs are run through several special interest departments, or committees. Each committee meets on its own schedule and is led by a board member. • Issues Committee: This committee discusses current issues in health care and medicine, and arranges for speaker events to raise awareness about the issues!
• Community Service / Volunteer Committee: Want to help people? Make the difference by participating in our volunteer programs.
• Pre-Medical Survival Guide: Want to stay afloat? Want to share the lessons you've learned with fellow pre-meds? Learn more about being and becoming a physician! This committee publishes an annual pre-med survival guide.
• Fundraising: The pillar of any organization -- getting the funds to put on the activities you want. Calling all business oriented students!
• Publicity: Do you love AMSA? Help us spread the word!
